PIADERA FZE - Hoarding Graphic Illustration - 2018

I spent about 2 weeks of consecutive work on this piece commissioned by Piadéra FZE, a restaurant franchise crafting traditional Italian street food in Dubai.
This illustration is now used in each of the franchises as a backdrop to immerse the customer in a welcoming, typical old Italian scene.

Ths subject is a Piadéra, a street cook in the Emilia Romagna region in the 60s, delivering food to a family.
There was lots of research involved in trying to capturing the exact look of the garments and the beach itself - perusing old postcards was fun!

Although I grew a lot as an artist since I delivered this painting, I feel like it was a huge accomplishment both professionally and stylistically.

Thanks to Matteo for being such a great client and letting me make creative choices during the production - also thanks to my sister Elisa for posing as a reference for the woman.
